HISTORY OF THE BEAT TOM & BILL CHARITY GOLF OUTING, DINNER AND RAFFLE
Since 2002, the Beat Tom & Bill Charity Golf Outing has raised over $135,000 in monetary donations for several cancer-related charities and local families. In 2009, with your help, we all set another record and raised over $60,000. In the 8 years of this event we’ve accomplished a lot:
- Raised over $60,000 for The Cancer Care Foundation, a non-profit organization that helped Bill's mother and father-in-law, George and Lana Nellis as they suffered through their cancer battles.
- Raised over $60,000 to help local families that were suffering financially through their cancer bouts.
- The DiSilvestro family and their daughter Gianna who ultimately lost her battle with the disease.
- Sally Gorney – Avila - a week after her passing, we honored Sally Gorney-Avila and her courageous fight at our outing.
- 4-yr old Jake Spachner’s family was also helped at last year’s outing. We are pleased to report that Jake is in remission and doing very well.
- Raised almost $15,000 to support Avon Breast Cancer and American Cancer Society.
